BUCKSPORT — Do you remember the last time your feet felt as soft as butter? If not, get an appointment with Chloe Stubbs, who just celebrated her first year doing business as Nails by Chloe.
The Bucksport High School Class of 2015 graduate launched her nail salon in March 2017. She’s doing business at 73 Main St. in part of the Neat Styles salon, operated by Juanita Bowden.
“It’s been good, growing each week,” Stubbs said, of the first year. “It’s been fun. I think my favorite thing is meeting new people and hearing their stories.”
Stubbs believes in keeping her clients and herself healthy. To that end, she offers traditional or shellac pedicures and manicures. No artificial or acrylics nail services are available.
“I like to keep it more natural,” Stubbs said. “I feel like it’s healthier for them and me.”
After graduating from cosmetology school, Stubbs had worked for several months at the Lethabo Day Spa in Orland.
But, the licensed nail technician said she really wanted her clients to have more privacy.
“While they’re here, I want them to feel pampered and special,” Stubbs said.
Stubbs is a fan of nail art, so talk to her about ideas you might have. She also has stamps that she can use on your nails.
She carries CND Shellac polishes as well as regular polishes by OPI and Morgan Taylor.
Hours are Monday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday noon to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Facebook is the best way to reach Stubbs for an appointment. She responds to messages usually within minutes from the salon’s Facebook page. Search “Nails by Chloe at Neat Styles.”
If you’re not a Facebook user, call 469-3425.
Appointments are best since Stubbs works by herself.
“I like to say I do walk-ins, but I can’t guarantee anything,” she said.
