Pros and Cons of Long Nails

February 23, 2021 by Cherile Iceman Leave a Comment

Long nails and short nails look depend on how you carry them. Some people love to carry short nails as they look cute while some prefer long nails. Both required some care and time. To maintain their health we need to keep them clean. Nails should be trim and file every week to keep healthy.

I’ve tried sporting both long nails and short nails, and if I have to choose, I prefer short nails. But that’s my preference and some might find longer nails to suit them better. If you’re not sure of what you want though, these are just some of the pros and cons I’ve experienced:

Pros of Long Nails

• They simply look glamorous. I can coat them with the simplest nail polish I have at home and they automatically make it look like it’s been done in the salon. It’s a good way to prepare for an important event.

• They make the fingers look slimmer and longer. The added length of the nails made my fingers look slimmer and I quite liked it.

• They look prettier with nail art. I’ve tried nail art on both long and short nails and I think I found the ones on the long nails to look better. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the length, but maybe having more surface to show the art is the reason.

Cons of Long Nails

• They carry germs and bacteria. It’s not hygienic in general to keep long nails, but if you can groom them properly, you should be okay.

• They can scratch other people. This could be a pro if you’re aiming to defend yourself against an attacker, but other than that, scratching people or animals due to your long nails is not a good thing.

• They make doing some things harder. I found it hard to type with long nails, but maybe those who have been sporting them will already be used to it. I also found it hard opening packets and cans with long nails mostly because I fear that my nails might break if I exert too much force on them. That will be painful too.

• They get damaged easily. Once when I tried to grow my nails out, I found one of them chipped and damaged, which resulted in me having to cut everything to make them even again. This could probably be remedied by using a product to strengthen the nails, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Some people might prefer long nails, while others are all for the shorter ones, but before you decide on what you want, make sure that you are aware of the pros and cons to expect from each.

Some Simple and Easy Nail Art Designs for Everyday Use

February 8, 2021 by Cherile Iceman Leave a Comment

As we all are short of time these day, we don’t have much time to go to nail bar or nail saloon to get our nails done. These simple and some easy nail art designs will help us to get our nails ready in less time.

A good at home manicure is hard enough to do, but attempting nail art by yourself takes the task to a whole different level. If you don’t feel like your true self without a small masterpiece painted onto your fingertips there’s a high chance that staring down at your at-home manicure is a big. fat. bummer. That’s why we are here to share simple nail art ideas that you can do easily at your home.

While your own nail art won’t be a perfect one, with fully detailed butterflies or flower prints, you can accent your manicure with minimalist and entry-level designs. “I would say that the best types of hand-painted nail art to do at home are simple abstract designs and natural patterns like leopard,” says Fleury Rose, a New York City-based nail artist. “This is because they’re more forgiving than doing precise straight lines or geometric patterns.”

There are plenty of household items that double as nail art tools, too, which makes your transition to being your own manicurist a lot easier. To set yourself up with a palette of nail polish paint to play with, Rose recommends using an old takeout container or tin foil to pour some enamel onto. “For dots, you can use a bobby pin or a sewing pin with a plastic ball. For ombre and spray paint effects, a makeup sponge or dish sponge will do the trick,” she says. And if you have any precise art or makeup brushes that you don’t mind using for your manis, those work too.

Check out some easy nail art designs which you can do easily at your home with the tools mentioned above with little efforts and concentration.

  1. Confetti Nail Art Design

Source https://bit.ly/33SFQAe

After applying a base coat and two coats of whatever color you’d like, grab a confetti polish/ glitter nail color like and swipe on as many layers as you want. Seal it with a top coat and voila.

  • Ombre Nail Art Design

Paint two coats of the color as your base, and give it about 10 minutes to dry. Dab on the second color with a sponge, moving up from the tip towards the cuticle. Finish with the third color, applied with a sponge and only patting onto the tip of your nail, before swiping on a top coat to seal it in.

  • Polka Dots Nail Art Design

Choose different shade to create the polka dots on each nail. Polish each nail with two layers and let dry for two minutes. Then take your brush out of the bottle, wipe most of the polish off, and literally dot different shades onto each nail.

  • Clouds Nail Art Design

Apply your base coat and two coats of whatever shade of sky blue that you wish. Use your sponge to dab a darker color to the top half of your nails, all the way to the tip. Then take your bobby pin, dip it into a white nail polish, and slowly, carefully dot it onto your nail, creating a cloud shape. Repeat and draw as many clouds as you are into.

  • Tiger Nail Art Design

Paint your nails as you normally would, with your base layer being a tan hue. Take a sponge to dab the tiger orange into the middle of the nail, blending it on the edges so that it fades out to tan on the sides. Then take your skinny brush or tip to slide thin tiger stripes horizontally across your nails.

  • Animal Nail Art Design

Get a base of neutral-colored nail polish down. Then grab a tiny brush (or your nail polish brush) to paint small base spots in oval and heart shapes. With another really small brush (or bobby pin or toothpick), partially outline the spots in a darker.
